This is by far the best restaurant in the whole Whiteland, Greenwood, and surrounding Franklin ares. The food is excellent, service is fast. They really treat you like family here. I recently brought my parents to try this place, and they are hooked! My dad loves the tacos.

Well, i've been here twice in last few months and both times the food has been amazing. more recently I had the delicious Carne Asada and now have found my absolute go-to for this dish. Easily the best i've had in 10 years at least - thin cut and excellent flavor and seasoning. I will be back when in the area again .

Excellent service and food This by far is one of my favorite places. We eat here probably 3 times a month or more with take out, and dine in. The food is always fresh, and the staff are far beyond excellent. Very friendly and they make you feel like you are home with family. I would highly recommend this place above all others. This is the type of place, and service other restaurants should get training from. Keep doing what you are doing and don't change a thing. EXCELLENT all around

We LOVE this place! It's close to home so we eat here about once a week or so. The people who work here are warm, welcoming and friendly and they remember us and treat us like family. They have the BEST refried beans around - I love them, even though they don't love me 😂 I usually get something with shrimp, either the shrimp fajitas or arroz con camarones, and the food is consistently good. Highly recommended! Parking: Sometimes the parking lot can be a little congested, but we can usually find a pretty good spot to park.

Relaxing spot! I was by myself. And was on the phone with my beatie. And the servee waa vwry respectful of that. It wasn't busy. Otherwise, i wouldn't have been on my phone. But i enjoyed the atmosphere, which was warm and inviting. The food is excellent. Will most definitely go back!!!

Recommended, everyone was real friendly! Out on the road with my better half and decided to try this place. We walked in around 1530 and were immediately greeted by a vampire and a kitten (it was Halloween). The kitten seated us promptly. Hector aka the vampire arrived at the table to welcome us. He took our drink order and later our food order, throughout the meal he checked with us a couple other times to ensure we were not left wanting. My beautiful bride of 30 years had an a la carte carnitas taco...I had a bite at her bidding, it was amazing. I quickly rushed to the kitchen and met the chef responsible for creating the wonderful dish, Ramon. I ordered the large nachos that has steak, chicken, and shrimp; as well as a large guacamole. The nachos were good but the chips quickly didn't hold up to the moisture. However, the flavors were outstanding, the meat was exceptionally seasoned. The guacamole I fixed up with some salt and black pepper, the table salsa we added some of their hot chile' salsa which then turned out great. We would go back for sure.

Love this place, always a good time and the servers are always nice even when they are busy. Good food and almost every time I go I have enough to take home as well. The exception to that is unless I go extremely hungry

Tried for the first time, July 6th 2023. Really enjoyed the meat lovers fajitas! Well, that's what I call it. It's the last one on the fajita menu (with a picture). The ribs taste like they are marinaded in beer, delicious! The pico is the best! And I love their tomatillo salsa with such a nice Smokey Sweet/HOT Rich Chili Pepper flavor. If it was a soup, I could eat a whole Bowl!

I have heard great things about El Abuelo, so we decided to check it out. It is located in a small strip mall and kind of looks like a hole in the wall but once inside, it's a different story. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. The food was delicious. We found our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Had to call someone over after about 10 minutes of waiting for someone to come greet us for drinks. But once someone arrived, the food was good! Large portions. Kids meals were way overpriced though (same price as adult meals)

We have been here at least 15 times and have had great experiences 13 of those times. I do wish they were a little more consistent but I can honestly say I really enjoy their food, especially when they don't play games with their portions on their shrimp chimichanga. We have gotten three different size portions ordering the same thing and actually had somebody argue with us about it

Great food and service. Looks small but decent sized place. Food was prepared as ordered and didn't take long. Tables and booths. In "middle if nowhere" in greenwood from indy but worth the drive. Salsa was slightly chunky and not too hot. Ordered the biggest burrito and worth the money. Couldn't eat the whole thing. Guacamole was creamy. Plan on going back even with the 40 minute drive.

We have been here several times and they are constantly good with quick and friendly service. Only real problem is that if there is a wait there is no place, other than outside on the sidewalk. Be careful in the parking lot, it just sucks, poor design, but the restaurant has no control over that. It a good place, check them out!

Definitely one of the best experiences I've had at a Mexican restaurant! All of the workers were welcoming and polite. Our server was friendly and very attentive (but not annoyingly so). The portions were large and the food tasted amazing! I will definitely be back and recommend to anyone in the area.

What a cute little treat this place was! First things first, the decor is absolutely beautiful! The staff are very accommodating and friendly as well! This go around we didn't order any alcohol but stuck to the real star , the food . The chips and salsa that were brought to the table were so fresh. The salsa had a slightly more saltier edge than I'm used to be but the cilantro mingled in and toned it down, it really made a big difference and was delicious. I ordered the Burrito Gigante (pork) and it comes covered in cheese sauce and served with lettuce, onions and sour cream. My fiancé ordered the Burrito Trio Grande which includes steak, chicken and shrimp. It comes with rice and refried beans and the burrito is also covered in cheese and red sauce. When I tell you these portions are HUGE, they're huge lol! Everything came out in a timely matter and tasted fresh and authentic. We will definitely be back for more and for sure will be ordering my second favorite thing to Mexican food, margariiiiiitaaas! Oh, and everything came out to 32.00 dollars!

Love this place!! We visited the area and went out to dinner with family and what great food and service and the atmosphere Wow! After we had a excellent meal we had fried ice cream and I have had this desert at other restaurants and this one was hands down the best I have ever had. Just ask for two spoons and share it because it's huge! Great place and great service!

I live in the northside, so it's a great when I'm visiting my friend in Franklin and we come to Abuelo for Mexican!I ordered the bombay burrito with chorizo instead of carnitas and it was to die for! I also really like their guacamole.Burritos are giant. I always get 2 meals out of it. I can't imagine how big the burrito is that they say they'll pay for if you eat the whole thing. LolWorth the try!

We ordered the Hawaiian Fajitas... And they were PERFECTLY MADE!! They came sizzling to the table.. What a beautiful presentation... To our shock..there was a huge amount..we had enough for two take home meals... When you go...and you should!! You will see what I mean!! The food...The service...The value... This is the best Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood. Really, it is soooo good but it seems like it is not the secret that is once was. Everyone that I meet in the area knows about it and for good reason. Tonight I tried the Burrito Mi Abuelito, a huge $25 burrito stuffed with chicken, pork, steak, beans and rice and topped with cheese and pico de gallo. If you can eat it solo in one sitting it is free. Not something that you want every time you go but it was seriously good. I have never been disappointed with the food or the staff and it is the closest to a favorite restaurant I have. They earned each star of this review!

Great little Mexican restaurant in a strip mall on US 31 north of Whiteland. Extensive menu, strong and tasty margaritas, great fresh made salsa, super friendly and attentive staff. There are dozens of these small Mexican restaurants in the metro Indianapolis area, this is one of the best. Definitely worth stopping in when you are in the area and in the mood for some delicious food prepared and served by the excellent staff.

I decided to eat at this place this time I ate inside.i usually get it to go.i wanted to try eating inside since the dining room is open. I ordered and they didn't disappoint the food came out it smelled good and taste great. My wife got this large burrito and if you eat all of it it's free. Traveled an hour to come here. Truly worth the trip. Service was awesome. They brought out some extra hot salsa when I requested it and it was great. I ordered a Quesadilla type wrap and this thing was massive and delicious. Always kept my cup full and even gave me a cup to take my drink with me. I will be back, definitely.

This place is delicious, but I am disappointed that I got served burnt flan, or flan that clearly did not look like it was worth serving and tasted awful. Other than that, I had good luck ordering other dishes from here

I love eating here! The food is delicious, the alcohol is good and all staff are very nice. Dine in or carry out I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my food. I'm so glad to have this restaurant nearby.

Service was amazing, we felt we were well taken care of. Food was so delicious and you could tell was freshly made. Overall definitely a friendly and well kept place and our new favorite mexican restaurant.

Get the Wet burrito and ask for the special spicy hot salsa if you dare... Service is always prompt and courteous and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend of you enjoy great mexican cuisine...

We have been to pretty much all of the Mexican restaurants in our area and this one is the best! We stopped going to the others about a year ago because they did not compete with El Abuelo!

They have the best salsa around! Also, the "tacos from the grill" are delicious! Marinated pieces of chicken, on soft corn tortillas with onion, cilantro and lime. So great!

Great friendly service. Food was fresh and amazing. Was a little disappointed that my onions and peppers wasn't on my plate. However meal was so good I didn't even complain.
